At the time I briefly worked on the engine to polish it up, I mulled whether the backgrounds could be scaled to a higher resolution, allowing for the player to be more finely drawn. I wasn't particularly in love with the game's story, and since I was just working to finish the game engine rather than working on the game from scratch, I was also hampered by having a good overall understanding of the engine as well.
