[23:04] <grogbot> <DreamMaster> Agreed. I've been quietly plugging away at disassembling Comprehend's sentence parser. Every time I thought I was getting a grip on everything, it adds extra complexity. ;P

[23:08] <grogbot> <DreamMaster> Ironically, I had already thought I'd fixed the parser this morning with a fix to the original's pair of words replacement with a single Id to allow for the words not to be next to each other. This fixes cases like "Put scepter in Sack" to be correctly encoded as "PutInSack scepter".
[23:11] <grogbot> <DreamMaster> But then I tried something as simple as "Talk to Zin" (a wizard), and it didn't work. But it did in the original, and "Talk Zin" did work. Which lead me into a rabbit hole of how Recomprehend pre-processes the parsed sentence line to set up an array of subject/noun/verb, and then then does several combinations of the of them to see if something matches what one of the scripts handle. Which is how "talk to *" works in the original,

[23:14] <grogbot> <DreamMaster> Well, in one sense, yes. But considering some of the stuff I've experimented in the past, particularly Starship Titanic, it's super simple in comparison. So I really shouldn't grumble too much that it wasn't already correct. At least Recomprehend had the bulk of the sentence parsing figured out, so I didn't have to do everything from scratch

LOL, no, except insofar as it would be nice to be at a good stopping point for work on Glk (including Comprehend), so I can move onto to experimenting with Shannara. If that turns out well, it could keep me busy for a while, so I'm leery of getting too interested in it until Glk is in good shape 🙂
