[05:07] <gsi_> the advice to not indent preprocessor directives originates from the past when "mixed" environments old and new were more popular than they are these days
[05:08] <gsi_> the "necessity" to not indent may have gone, the advice may still apply, above references suggest that the reason to indent are either personal asthetics, or to workaround broken editor syntax highlighting, both are weak reasons in my perspective
[05:09] <gsi_> today I learned that GNU cpp(1) supports different ses of preprocessor syntax features, and selects them with the -x language spec, or optionally auto determines the input file's syntax
[05:10] <gsi_> that's why Linux kernel device trees can #define and #include as you would do with source code in other languages, yet the American number symbol won't break the compilation (think "#address-cells")
[05:12] <gsi_> so if your project does not plan to remain as portable as it could be, then go ahead and assume a "recent" environment, just remain aware (other responses suggest that you are, which is good)
[05:14] <gsi_> now I'm still wondering why (indented) #size-cells "work" with cpp -x assembler-with-cpp while indented #include also works, may be that unsupported directives are non-fatal with that x spec?

I don't think it reviewed well back in the day either. ScummVM does not support this game (as of yet)

A number of AGS, Wintermute, and text games aren't listed though, but they are usually on https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php?title=Category:Supported_Games. Sadly, BloodNet isn't on either of them, and it appears to be using a custom engine that other games don't use.
