[03:08] I've also got a feature suggestion for the Android build, regarding games that position their text-entry box at the very bottom of the screen (i.e. Hugo 3 and Starship Titanic). Would it be possible to reposition the game view when your system keyboard is brought up, basically moving the game view upwards so the bottom edge touches the very top of the keyboard? Failing that, would there be a way for ScummVM to display a text-entry [03:08] field of its own after detecting a mouse-click on a given game's text-entry field? [03:13] You can post an enhancement suggestion on the issue tracker: https://bugs.scummvm.org/query?status=!closed&type=enhancement [03:17] I already did: Issue #10979, been sitting there for 7 months. [11:30] Hello, I'm trying to "debug" the setChar assertion fault that was reported in the GOG thread above for MacOS... without actually setting up a MacOS VM yet. [11:30] I think it's connected to String's wordWrap() which doesn't seem to be used much [11:31] Blade Runner engine does not use that at all (Font's WordWrapText does not use it either) [11:32] So it only comes down to the "generateUnknownGameReport()" method [11:32] But why would that trigger if GOG already sets up the game in its config file? [11:34] And also, if that somehow triggers when launching a game, what could cause the assert fault? Some weird locale character in the game path? [14:17] @antoniou79 I had a quick look yesterday, and my conclusion was also that the only String::setChar usage that might come into play was the call from String::wordWrap, itself called from generateUnknownGameReport(). But I don't see why this would get called, or why the worWrap would trigger this assertion. [14:18] Maybe both are indeed caused by some weird character in the game path. [14:18] Or maybe this is a red herring and there is an earlier memory issue that causes corruption and eventually this assert. [14:21] that's a good point. [14:21] I told that person to re-validate their installation and maybe install in a default path [14:22] does it get installed in a user's directory? unicode characters in their username could be a factor then [14:23] i just summoned my mac mojave vm from the deep and loaded blade runner with the 2.1.0 release without problems (using my own CD files) for what it's worth [14:23] yeah unicode characters in a path could mess things up -- I don't know for sure, but they're known to do that [14:35] timofonic (~timofonic@unaffiliated/timofonic) joined #scummvm.
