[11:34] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> Is this something a specific version of the game supports or maybe the sequel does?

[16:36] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> The Steam build is not from us though
[16:36] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> and screen sharing and stuff is still partially broken on Wayland

[16:37] <grogbot> [discord] <themriron2> I see, so would you suggest trying to run the game's data using one of your builds?
[16:38] <grogbot> [discord] <themriron2> Using the game's native Linux release, which is a pre-configured ScummVM build
[16:38] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> I would simply use an official ScummVM build, e.g. through the FlatPak
[16:38] --> tsoliman joined #scummvm.
[16:38] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> and nothing pre-configured or from Steam
[16:38] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> the pre-configured builds tend to have ancient ScummVM versions
[16:39] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> but if only screen sharing is broken, this sounds more like a problem in your sound setup
[16:39] <grogbot> [discord] <tea29> Screensharing, discord, and Linux are flaky things. I'd rule out that first. If your friend streams other games, do you hear audio?
[16:39] <grogbot> [discord] <themriron2> Yes, screensharing with audio works in other programs. I'll try as suggested though and use an official build, since the problem might lie in a dated pre-configured ubild

[16:43] <grogbot> [discord] <themriron2> Ah, yeah, there does seem to be a Discord audio sharing issue right now - I'm annoyed I didn't check that first before coming here! It turns out he had reinstalled his OS since he last shared his screen so there was an unexpected issue

[17:57] <grogbot> [discord] <gu3> The levels are not actually that hard to explore, but some placement of the driller is tricky.. that's why I added cheats πŸ˜…
[18:02] <grogbot> [discord] <thothxv> It's actually not a Wayland issue, it's just that Discord does not and has never supported Discord audio streaming.
[18:02] <grogbot> [discord] <thothxv> Vesktop seems to be the slickest workaround right now, but there have been a lot of them.
[18:03] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> Maybe because Discord couldn't implement some sort of DRM there... IIRC, they are able to block you from "re-streaming" Netflix and stuff, they somehow detect it - and I guess since Linux has no "official DRM-API", they decided to block it completely.
[18:04] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> But that's just me guessing.
[18:31] <-- _marc` left irc: Ping timeout: 255 seconds
[18:34] <grogbot> [discord] <bjnfne> i also took an look into the other Adibou 2 versions which don't have an Cursors folder. i guess the Cursors are embedded into the executable, i have found some strings also which are related to the Cursors like InitCursor SetCursor and so on. how i extract them at bes tto make sure they are implemented into the Executable?
[18:36] <grogbot> [discord] <sev____> you need to have some kind of Macintosh Resource viewer, there were a few
[18:36] <grogbot> [discord] <sev____> you check that they sit in there
[18:36] <grogbot> [discord] <sev____> then you add handling to the code
[18:36] <grogbot> [discord] <bjnfne> alright thanks, i will take an look into it

[18:37] --> AtleoS joined #scummvm.
[18:41] <grogbot> [discord] <thothxv> Nah, that's not true. The prevention of restreaming with netflix etc is actually implemented browser-side, not by Discord (and it's actually relatively straightforward to circumvent).
[18:41] <grogbot> [discord] <thothxv> It's almost certainly moreso that Discord just doesn't really care about Linux as a platform. Audio streaming never officially worked, not under X11 or Wayland. Hence all the patched clients, chromium scripts, etc that the community produced to work around or fix it. Audio streaming used to not work on Mac either as I understand it.
[18:41] <grogbot> [discord] <thothxv> The grand irony is that Chromium *can* actually stream application audio on Linux just fine. If Discord hadn't written their own custom code for screensharing, there would be no problems.
[18:41] <grogbot> [discord] <rootfather> ah, that's interesting
