[11:54] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> Hi. Is this a good place to ask about some issues i have with adding the games to the program?
[11:58] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> It is.
[11:59] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> But keep in mind the basic rule for such discussion (ie. no "warez")
[12:01] --> Krusher__ joined #scummvm.
[12:02] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> ok. So I am having trouble adding some games to the program. I have read how to do it and i have seen compatibility list. The game I am trying to add is Discworld. Program doesn't see any game files in the folder. Also tried mounting the ISo and pointing the program to virtual drive. It sees no game. Also Discworld Noir. It doesn't see any game files in folder. Only game i managed to add and run is The Longest Journey.
[12:02] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> What am i doing wrong here?
[12:04] <-- Krusher_ left irc: Ping timeout: 272 seconds
[12:06] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> As far as I know, Discworld Noir is not supported by ScummVM.
[12:06] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> For Discworld, the files required in your game data folder, so that ScummVM can detect it are listed here: <https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php?title=Discworld>
[12:06] <grogbot> [discord] <eientei> Extract the files from the disc, put them in a folder, then add that game to ScummVM like antoniou linked ^
[12:07] <grogbot> [discord] <eientei> As you have made an iso of your CD, you can use 7zip to extract all the files to a folder
[12:09] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> Also keep in mind, on some Operating Systems, like Windows, the "Add Game" functionality of ScummVM will allow you to choose a folder, but may not show you a list of files in that folder. That is expected. Just point ScummVM to the correct game folder, click Ok, and let it tell you if it found a valid game or not.
[12:12] <grogbot> [discord] <eientei> Alternatively, use the "Mass add" and let it scan through the folders you extracted from the disc
[12:13] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> i did extract the game and it doesn't see anything in folder
[12:14] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> hmm. it detected floppy version of discworl
[12:15] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> hodor. gonna try something else
[12:17] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> I am not familiar with Discworld's folder structure when extracted, but ScummVM may require some files to be copied in the outmost folder (first "level" of folders)
[12:17] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> ie. the files listed in the wiki link
[12:17] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> I am not familiar with Discworld's folder structure when extracted, but ScummVM may require some files to be copied in the outmost game data folder (first "level" of folders) (edited)
[12:18] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> ok. so i would need to extract the iso itself? Because i see the game has the iso folder with disc image and other folder with save files and drivers
[12:20] <grogbot> [discord] <TiCoKH> yes That is why I prefer this version from early Ultimas, and 1-3 is a same engine on FMTowns. Would be great play on my vita but is to under-powered for good emulator, so I try add support to scummvm (in a far future).
[12:27] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> ok i did extract the iso with 7 zip and it found the game but it doesn't start it. says some files are missing.

[12:30] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> it runs the floppy version of game no problem
[12:37] <grogbot> [discord] <antoniou79> If you have the files mentioned in the error message, copy them to the main data folder
[12:45] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> https://tenor.com/view/sacha-baron-cohen-great-success-yay-gif-4185058
[12:46] <grogbot> [discord] <Duckman> actually got this running earlier in Dosbox-x. But that was a pain to set up. And it actually looks and sounds better in ScummVM
[12:48] <grogbot> [discord] <dwa> you may want to upgrade to ScummVM 2.6.1, as there were some Discworld fixes

[21:02] <grogbot> [discord] <Patrick J Furlong> Looking good @gu3 - is that the Amiga one or C64?
[21:03] <grogbot> [discord] <gu3> This is from the DOS (EGA) release. For Driller, it will have initial support for DOS (EGA) and Amiga, AtariST.
[21:04] <grogbot> [discord] <gu3> C64 / Amstrad and ZX Spectrum support depends on decoding some shading information (only 4 colors are available, so developers needed to do all the possible tricks to show something useful in the screen)
[21:05] <grogbot> [discord] <Patrick J Furlong> Never seen the DOS versions before. Will it let you use the Amstrad CPC, Sinclair Spectrum or C64 versions at all (I have them on these formats)
