You were right that it crashed immediately on the title sequence, so for now I simply bypass the title and go straight to the intro. The game then starts up fine. Not sure how much of the game the demo comprises.. it definitely has less files than the full game, so it may simply cut out after day 1 or something. If anyone is interested enough [00:26] to experiment with it, if there is a definite end you could file a bug report with an attached savegame, and I can use it to put in appropriate end checks for the demo into the code [00:31] is it supposed to crash when i select the quit option? Since you're credited for the Drascula engine I have a quick question about that one: A guy with whom I was discussing Spanish Kyra games thinks that the engine might be able to support a game named "Mortadelo y Filemón: El Sulfato Atómic" . Anyone ever heard about that one? Could I direct the guy reporting this to one of you? [15:30] no idea about other games, we had source code [15:30] it was hardcoded to this games only [15:39] Please, does anyone familiar with the Beneath a Steel Sky engine (SKY) know where the dialogues (audio cues) are defined? Is it part of a game's resource? [15:43] given what i've seen of the drascula code, i find it very unlikely that it would work with another game [15:51] ny00123 (~ny00123@5.102.217.144) joined #scummvm. [15:53] From what I remember the drascula game was indeed all hardcoded (it's lucky we had the original source code for it 😉 ). So even if the code for Mortadelo y Filemón was similar, a lot of work would likely still be required to support the game. [15:53] I know the comic book series, and I have heard of the game before (I think it was from a discussion with a Spanish game developer showing his prototype of an adventure game feature a vampire at AdventureX several years ago - you can probably guess how the discussion drifted to Alcachofa Soft). [15:54] But I have never seen the game myself. [15:54] Jeez, those are old games [15:54] I remember one Mortadelo y Filemón was cooperative multiplayer. Disclaimer: I'm from Spain. [15:55] Wait what? So at best we would be able to reuse some code to read the data file as the format may be the same. But everything else would need to be implemented. [22:01] As for the detection, anything directory that contains a file named packet.001 will be detected as Drascula. So that doesn't say much (other than suggest that the data file format might indeed be the same, i.e. an ARJ archive).
