[17:50] <Grogbot> <tsoliman> the jerky animation doesn't work at all with modern-looking assets, since they redid the characters' art
[17:51] <Grogbot> <tsoliman> it just looks like jarring and uncomfortable
[17:51] <Grogbot> <SupSuper> yeah the old pixelly games used a lot more subtle tricks like palette effects and stuff that don't carry over as well to remasters, plus reskinning them keeps those old limitations that become a lot more jarring in HD
[17:52] <Grogbot> <tsoliman> MI2SE was better because the backgrounds of MI2 seemed to be scans of actual paintings
[17:52] <Grogbot> <SupSuper> like the mi1 ghost ship is a lot neater in its simplistic somber pixel style than the remastered foggy blurry version
[17:53] <Grogbot> <SupSuper> yeah mi2 probably had better source material. mi1 they had to work very hard to bridge the gaps between sprites and close-ups 😛

[20:16] <Grogbot> <Praetorian> @tsoliman about the Alt+Enter bug, what I get is as the ticket describes it: https://bugs.scummvm.org/ticket/9617 and this is only so sensitive in Linux. In Windows you still get toggling between fullscreen and windowed if you do an Alt+Enter and keep holding down the Enter key but that is not annoying because it is not so sensitive as in Linux and you can always get the target mode if you press Alt+Enter as a normal user
