[22:15] <grogbot> <criezy> We do support running the games from the CD for some games, but we always recommand copying the data file to the hard disk rather than play from the CDs, even when that is supported.

If you want it to work without the CD in the future, pull the files from the CD listed here: https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles#Backyard_Football into a folder, select "Add Game" and direct ScummVM to that folder
