In the castle dungeon, if you "talk to grate", it'll jump you ahead in the game to a cutscene when you're swimming up an underground river as a dolphin. Likely a dev needed a way to get to a cutscene quickly where they couldn't have a handy savegame at that point, so they came up with a hack to get there quickly. And forgot to take it out later 😛
