That'll save you getting bogged down trying to implement a lot of the graphics engine. For example, RPGMaker. Or AGS, though it's more geared for creating adventures, some like AGD Interactive remade several of the Sierra RPGs in it. The #🧩🛠game-authoring channel is the best place to discuss matters further
