[10:45] <Joefish> rootfather: thanks. My worry is that once squashed all the references to particular commits by hashes will be lost and certain parts of the conversation cannot easily be understood. I'm not sure how github handles that

[13:44] <Joefish> when squashing my commits the messages are quite hard to read as I normally don't append them with a newline and it wasn't mentioned in the commit guidelines either. [19:16] <criezy> I just look at the hash of the first commit I want to squash and rebase from its parent.

[19:18] <criezy> For the message, the idea is that we want to remove intermediate incorrect commits and 1-line fix commits that follow. So you would write the message as if it was a single commit from the start.
[19:18] <criezy> And for qtcreator I actually use it a lot at work. This is our primary IDE on Linux, and I work almost exclusively on Linux.
[19:18] <criezy> And let my colleagues fight with VS on Windows.
[19:19] <criezy> So in case you didn't get your answer, there are separate environment settings for building and running, and both are set in the project settings.

[19:50] <Joefish> is it normal that the client's interface with opengl and modern theme is so slow when scaled to fullscreen? I just accidentally scaled it to default size (320x240?) and was amazed how smooth everything was :D
